Welcome to Saferoad VRS

Saferoad take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks!

Help us to raise funds for our chosen charity, Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice

On 26th May a team of 17 Saferoad colleagues will take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks in a bid to raise funds for Manorlands Hospice. The walk is 38.6km which includes 1585m of ascent and with a target time of 12 hours.

Sadly we lost a dear colleague in 2016 after a short battle with cancer and during this time, both he and his family received invaluable care and support from Manorlands.

If you are able to help us reach our fundraising target, please visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/saferoad.

We would really appreciate your support!

About Parapet Working width

Parapet systems with a working width of up to and including W4 are both perfectly acceptable on the Highways Agencys Road Network and fully complaint with TD 19/06.

Within the Guidance on the use of the Road Restraint Risk Assessment Process (RRRAP) associated with TD 19/06 it states that designers should check and specify the greatest working width that meets the requirement of paragraphs 4.14 an 4.15 of TD 19/06 which may be greater than the default W2 the RRRAP returns.

All of our parapet systems are EN 1317 tested and comply fully with the requirements of TD 19/06, our parapet systems have also been designed so that they use their working width to absorb the high impact energy generated from a collision. During this time our vehicle parapet systems protect the driver or passenger whilst it contains and redirects the errant vehicle in a controlled and safe manner, at no point do the vehicle wheels leave the bridge plinth.
